I’ve never been big on the celebration of Thanksgiving; my favorite family gatherings are the annual mirth-making of Christmas. So I’m not particularly sore that I’m pretty ill and bedridden today. Instead, I decided to take the time to reconsider my wardrobe, the overwhelming beacon of privilege that it is. I take my ability to choose my clothing based on looks as well as utility for granted, I’m not grateful enough that I have the opportunity to live in NYC which affords me access to well-made clothing at good prices (i.e. designer sample sales), as well as on-trend pieces at excellent prices (i.e. H&M, Uniqlo). I went through my armoire and made a list of all the clothing I have, and it’s actually jaw-dropping to me how much I own and how little of it I wear. I’m hoping this list provides a good motivation to pare down to the pieces I really love and will hold onto for a long time. Read on, if you like!
Also, I’ve finally added comments, so feel free to chime in on things! I’d love to hear from you.
